Dr Kajal Bathia – Principal Dental Surgeon

Kajal qualified from Guys and St Thomas’ Dental School, London in 2002 and gained extensive experience in private and NHS dentistry before taking over the practice in March 2012. She is extremely passionate about providing quality treatment and service.
She considers it her duty to educate patients, young and old, about the most effective way of maintaining oral hygiene to minimise invasive treatment and to preserve the longevity of their natural teeth. She offers the full range of general dental services, with a special interest in treating anxious patients. Kajal continually enhances her skillset by investing in her dental education so that patients have the benefit of the latest developments. She has gained a Diploma in Restoring Implants under VSS Academy and a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry under Dr Chris Orr, one of the country’s most prominent cosmetic dentists. She also provides short-term orthodontics systems such as Six Month Smiles. She firmly believes in open and honest communication with patients so they understand every option available and what is happening at every stage of their treatment.
She also believes in giving something back to the local and wider community and visits schools to educate children on their oral health. She regularly speaks on Lincolnshire FM on current dental issues. When she is not doing any of the above she enjoys socialising with her friends and family and is also mum to two little girls, who keep her very much on her toes!Read more
Wendy Best – Patient Co-ordinator
Wendy joined the team in January 2016. She has an extensive dental background in both nursing and administration. Wendy was a practising dental nurse and also holds her Certificate in Oral Health Education. Whilst no longer utilising her clinical skills she now focuses totally on customer service and is the first smile to greet you as you enter the practice. Wendy still seeks to maintain her professional learning to ensure your comfort and safety within the practice. She enjoys working as part of our small and friendly team and looks forward to meeting you at the practice.
Wendy has relocated to Lincoln from Surrey as her husband is Ruskington born. In her spare time Wendy enjoys time with the family, travel, both here and abroad.Read more
Joanne Smallacombe – Registered Dental Nurse

Jo joined our team in October 2012 and is a fully qualified and registered dental nurse, having attained her qualification in dental nursing in 2010. She has been a dental nurse for a total period of 32 years, having returned to the role after raising her two children.
Jo has a highly caring and sympathetic nature and has a wonderful ability to put patients at ease prior to and during their treatment. She has undertaken many aspects of nursing during her career, including domiciliary visits and assisting with sedation, amongst many others. She still very much enjoys the patient interaction and all the challenges that dentistry entails. Outside of work, Jo enjoys spending time with her family, swimming and travelling.Read more
Jasmine Melville – Registered Dental Nurse

Jasmine qualified to be a Dental Nurse (NEBDN London) in 2014 whilst working at a practice in Essex. She would then go on to take some time off to raise her son before moving to Lincolnshire and returning to nursing here at the Sleaford Smile Centre in 2017.
She is passionate about helping others and as such, Sleaford Smiles felt like a natural fit for her thanks to its welcoming environment, family atmosphere and the high level of care provided to each and every patient.
When she’s not in her purple uniform or pretending to be a dinosaur for the amusement of her son, Jasmine enjoys listening to music, reading, playing games and she has a keen interest in beauty and fashion.Read more
Lily Hutton – Registered Dental Nurse

Lily joined our team in December 2017 and for the past 18 months she has been training and working towards her dental nursing qualification. She passed her exams in January 2018 and is now awaiting her registration with the General Dental Council. Lily recently purchased her first house with her partner Nathan within the area and that is one of the reasons why she has moved to Sleaford Smiles, as well as wanting to further her career in dentistry. Lily is a caring person and working with a friendly team and patients makes her job as a dental nurse very enjoyable.Read more
Jose Zurdo – Implant & Perio Specialist

José graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Bilbao in 1983 and completed his medical speciality in Estomatology and Dentistry at the University of Barcelona in 1986.
Since 2002 he has been a very active clinician and educator in the UK. He has worked as a specialist practitioner based in Leicester and Manchester managing severe periodontal disease with Complex interdisciplinary demands (perio, implant and restorative interfaces), hard and soft tissue grafting techniques, microsurgical plastic procedures and implants in compromised sites.
He was a clinical instructor of the postgraduate course in Periodontology (MClinDen) at the Eastman Dental Institute (London) in 2003, developed the MSc in Clinical Periodontology at UCLan in 2007 being the academic lead until 2013 and is also a regular lecturer nationally and internationally.
In his free time and when his young family allows, José is a keen cyclist and loves playing squash.Read more
Dr Panayiotis Karavellas – Associate Dentist

Panos graduated from Sheffield University Dental School in 2014. He has experience in both NHS and private dentistry in the UK since qualifying and is keen on providing care in a relaxing and reassuring manner.
He has a keen eye for detail and believes in empowering the patients under his care. He has strong ethical values and feels the most important part of his work is the discussions and explanations prior to any treatments with the aim of involving the patient throughout the whole process. He practises in all aspects of general dentistry and has been attending several courses around the UK. His main area of focus is minimally invasive and aesthetic dentistry with long term predictability. Panos is also a keen user of technology in the delivery of modern dentistry, an example of which is image manipulation to show potential effect of aesthetic treatments on your smile. He is also trained in short term orthodontics that allow alignment of teeth; Inman Aligner and InvisalignGO.
In his free time, he enjoys exploration of different cuisines and making of complicated recipes; occasionally he makes cheese! The main activities he enjoys are football, tennis and bachata dancing in which he also attends conferences. Travelling is one of his passions and Italy is his favourite destination.Read more
